Day 46: Aug 18 (Whitehorse, YK - Fort Nelson, BC) 610 miles

This morning we were up early on our way to the bathroom and a fox was about 4 feet from Jeff. He thought it was going to come right up to him and then it saw me and walked around us to eat some berries about 12 feet from us. Of course by the time I got to my camera he was gone. Awesome Sauce!!

Whitehorse to Fort Nelson:

At Johnson's Crossing we stopped and picked up some goodies at the Bakery. The Cherry and Apple turnovers were delicious. Cinnamon Rolls were also good. Scones we did not care for. Good place to check out.

This rest stop was just down the road from this bakery. I loved the way it was landscaped! The gravel road on the left of this sign is highway 6 to Ross River, Yukon. Yep its gravel all the way.

This was on the road by Swift River. We stopped to get a good picture of the bridge below and decided to explore this RV park. We drove thru it and the Container RV was parked in one of the spots. We thought it was so cool how they built it and even had a deck on it, that folds up.

Bridge right after the above RV park:

Watson Lake Visiters Center. 2015 87,000 signs: So anyone can bring a sign and have it posted here.

The Hywy between Watson Lake and Fort Nelson was awesome for seeing critters: 56 Bison/1 Coyote/3 Caribou/4 Bear! Awesome Sauce!
Jeff got up to this guy pretty close for me to take this picture.

This Coyote almost seemed tame. Like he was waiting for us to give him a PB&J sandwich. After we passed him he stood by the road looking at the on coming cars. This was the end of a construction project and we suspect someone fed him on there way thru.

This guy was on the road.

So we did see a total of 4.5 bears. These 2 are the only ones we got pictures of, as they were chowing down on salad on the side of the road. One young bear ran across the road in front of us and causing Jeff to brake quickly. Mama and baby was on the edge of the woods quite a ways from the road.

This was the only RV park that we knew of in Fort Nelson. We came in just as the restaurant/office was closing. We were happy to get a space!

*I celebrate all life.
