Day 25-28: July28-31 (Kenai Peninsula)


Did I mention I was sick with a nasty cold when I got here to Don and Jans. Because of that we did not do much during these days. But when we did go I did take pictures. Also, there was interesting stuff happening right here.

I took these pictures looking out the bedroom window. This plane landed on the beach below. Only in Alaska!






Saw moose in 2 separate times about 2-4 miles down the road from the Cabin. It seems like we see a moose every day we go out. I can't always get pictures because they bolt before I can get my camera out.


Jan came over to the cabin to visit and Cisco was in 7th heaven, because she was petting him the whole time we were chatting. So I had to get a picture.


This is Don and Koah: Cisco and Koah do not get along to well. When we introduced them, Cisco immediately went after her. See how big she is!! I think he has a death wish! She was not happy with his attitude. So we keep them separate.

Day 8 July 11, 2016 Healy, AK We are going to be staying in a hotel for the next four nights here in Healy, Alaska. (July 11-15) We will be exploring the Denali National Park and this whole area. Today we went and saw the Denali dogsled Demonstration. Denali sled dogs "mush" the trails of Denali Park all winter long. In the summer time the kennel dogs participate in a sled dog demonstration three times a day. We did get to hang with the dogs and pet them. Free Demo! "Please scratch my back"  "Would you smile if some weirdo wanted to do a selfie with you"? After the dogsled demonstration we went to the Denali visitors center. We watched a movie about Denali and looked at all the displays and information about the park. Jeff made a friend! Day 46: Aug 18 (Whitehorse, YK - Fort Nelson, BC) 610 miles

This morning we were up early on our way to the bathroom and a fox was about 4 feet from Jeff. He thought it was going to come right up to him and then it saw me and walked around us to eat some berries about 12 feet from us. Of course by the time I got to my camera he was gone. Awesome Sauce!! Whitehorse to Fort Nelson: At Johnson's Crossing we stopped and picked up some goodies at the Bakery. The Cherry and Apple turnovers were delicious. Cinnamon Rolls were also good. Scones we did not care for. Good place to check out. This rest stop was just down the road from this bakery. I loved the way it was landscaped! The gravel road on the left of this sign is highway 6 to Ross River, Yukon. Yep its gravel all the way. This was on the road by Swift River. Day 45: Aug 17 (Tok, AK - Whitehorse, Yukon) 420 miles

Happy Anniversary  To US!!  We started the day out at the Tok RV Village RV park, where we had stayed on the way to Alaska.  While we were getting ready to go a squirrel was hopping from tree to tree, knocking down the pine cones. In this picture you can see he's on his way to another tree. He was doing this until we left. We figured the winters must be pretty cold if he's working this hard to get his stores up! Tok, AK to Whitehorse, Yukon: If you go to Alaska or Canada, I highly recommend going to all the visitors centers. Most all have more then just travel information. Many have history, demonstrations and more. They are all very helpful!! This one was in Alaska before the Canadian Border.. This was the Refuge behind the visitors station where you can go hiking and fishing. One of the type of fish that are in these lakes. On the road: These pictures were taken in the Yukon.
