Itemized Trip Cost:

I have figured out the cost for our trip to Alaska and Back. I'm sure if we had taken our Travel Trailer or we did not have places to stay, it would have cost more. Remember that about 1/2 of this we would spend anyway. Groceries/Some Gas/Some Entertainment or Out to eat/Some MSC(Cash)

48 days: (Hotels=9 nights/Camping=10 nights/Friend&Family=29 days)

Things DONE Different:

 Jeff and I talked about what we would do different, assuming we would still just take the Truck and we came up with the below items.
1. No Kayaks and gear. Because we are beginners we did not know where to go. It would have been better to go on Kayak tours with experienced guides. Also, we had to always worry about our Kayaks and gear(2 big boxes).
2. Travel lighter. (Kayaks/Cloths/Food and Kitchen Boxes)
3. Not bring Cisco our dog. We found we would not do some things, because we would worry about him or he was not allowed to go. Also, we always had to watch out for Eagles and other critters that might like a tasty little dog. Of course we could not leave him as he is our baby and we probably  would have missed him to much. So I guess it would have been good to have our Trailer, so he could always be home. Or fly and just stay a few weeks!
4. We would have not had such a tight schedule going to Alaska. Would have been good to do site seeing on the way thru Canada, but I had reservations in Denali so we could not do that. On the way back to USA, we were ready to be back home, so did not check out Canada.
5. Depart in June and leave the whole summer optional for the trip.

We had a great time going to Alaska and Back. Im not sure that we will drive again, but I do believe we will fly up there for a 2/3 week trip. Now that we have been there, we have certain things we would like to do. Also, then we can find someone to watch Cisco for a few weeks.
But who knows what the future will bring!

 When we do go back to Alaska, I will use this BLOG again about our TRIP!!

Day 8 July 11, 2016 Healy, AK We are going to be staying in a hotel for the next four nights here in Healy, Alaska. (July 11-15) We will be exploring the Denali National Park and this whole area. Today we went and saw the Denali dogsled Demonstration. Denali sled dogs "mush" the trails of Denali Park all winter long. In the summer time the kennel dogs participate in a sled dog demonstration three times a day. We did get to hang with the dogs and pet them. Free Demo! "Please scratch my back"  "Would you smile if some weirdo wanted to do a selfie with you"? After the dogsled demonstration we went to the Denali visitors center. We watched a movie about Denali and looked at all the displays and information about the park. Jeff made a friend! Day 46: Aug 18 (Whitehorse, YK - Fort Nelson, BC) 610 miles

This morning we were up early on our way to the bathroom and a fox was about 4 feet from Jeff. He thought it was going to come right up to him and then it saw me and walked around us to eat some berries about 12 feet from us. Of course by the time I got to my camera he was gone. Awesome Sauce!! Whitehorse to Fort Nelson: At Johnson's Crossing we stopped and picked up some goodies at the Bakery. The Cherry and Apple turnovers were delicious. Cinnamon Rolls were also good. Scones we did not care for. Good place to check out. This rest stop was just down the road from this bakery. I loved the way it was landscaped! The gravel road on the left of this sign is highway 6 to Ross River, Yukon. Yep its gravel all the way. This was on the road by Swift River. We stopped to get a good picture of the bridge below and decided to explore this RV park. We drove thru it and the Container RV was parked in one of the spots. Day 45: Aug 17 (Tok, AK - Whitehorse, Yukon) 420 miles

Happy Anniversary  To US!!  We started the day out at the Tok RV Village RV park, where we had stayed on the way to Alaska.  While we were getting ready to go a squirrel was hopping from tree to tree, knocking down the pine cones. In this picture you can see he's on his way to another tree. He was doing this until we left. We figured the winters must be pretty cold if he's working this hard to get his stores up! Tok, AK to Whitehorse, Yukon: If you go to Alaska or Canada, I highly recommend going to all the visitors centers. Most all have more then just travel information. Many have history, demonstrations and more. They are all very helpful!! This one was in Alaska before the Canadian Border.. This was the Refuge behind the visitors station where you can go hiking and fishing. One of the type of fish that are in these lakes. On the road: These pictures were taken in the Yukon.
